Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Yalding

The Wateringbury

Tonbridge Road, Wateringbury, Kent ME18 5NS, UK – 01622 812632

Arrived around 19:30 expecting not to get a roast but I was wrong. Had the slow roast shoulder of lamb. Delicious! My daughter had the rib of beef & pulled pork, loved it & husband had cod & chips. Sat outside on a lovely sunny Sunday evening. Price average £15 pp. worth it.

Nice food. Good value. Excellent service!

Walnut Tree

4 of us met for a meal and all thoroughly enjoyed our food. I had the rump steak medium rate and I rate this as one of the top 10 steaks eaten in this country. I am 58 so I have had a few

Fantastic meal , very reasonable price, couldn't ask for more friendly and helpful staff , the chef and also the owner ? What a really friendly and welcoming man any questions and help would not e a problem. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The Tickled Trout

Chequers Cottage, Lower Rd, Maidstone ME15 0PE, UK – 01622 814717

Visiting for a rather chilly autumnal Monday afternoon lunch, although the pub was rather quiet there is a real nice vibe with the new decor following their refurbishment by Hush Heath, (a great local winery, check them out) and the staff are very courteous, adding to a real nice feel about the place. The waitress offered us the restaurant or bar to sit down advising the bar may be more comfortable where it was rather quiet, which was a credit to their hospitality, small considerations go a long way. I had a vegetarian Linguine (£10) off the specials board which was great. My wife had a burger (£12) (often a bone of contention with restaurants and myself), which was pretty OK actually (despite the brioche bun and wooden board (points of contention with me!), there are some pretty disappointing burgers in this area! I will return to dig deeper into their menu, there was a minute steak was about £15.00 which is getting to the lumpy side for a lunch. We ate off the a la carte menu which I assume wasn't a lunch menu, but the offerings were typical lunch meals so that was fine. Its probably slightly on the pricey side when you move down the menu to things like the steak, but this is one of the fancier pubs locally and its not breaking the bank for a nice place to eat.

Nice place food was nice but portions very small left still feeling hungry
